Monks Retreat
This Abbey of the Genesee, Community of Trappist Monks, make delicious bread -that's how they support themselves-and also have retreats available. They are located South of Rochester, NY in Piffard. A good place to go and be silent and one with yourself and nature and God.

Hours:
Church and reception room: 2 AM –7 PM
Bookstore: open throughout the day
Bread Store: 8 AM - 11 AM; 1:30 PM - 4 PM

Monk's Bread

Monk's bread is made in Piffard, NY at the Abbey of the Genesee. You can take a virtual tour of it here. You can also go there for a visit in person, and buy their bread, other baked goods, and even take a retreat. Want to get away from it all? "Silence is observed at all meals as well as throughout the house, though one of the parlors can be used for speaking." Check out their website, and if you're not near their store or any stores who carry it, you can also buy it online.
